Natural Marine Reserve
With an interministerial decree of 12 november 1986, the marine area near the Park of Miramare was established as protected zone with the denomination of “Natural Marine Reserve of Miramare in the Gulf of Trieste”. The Castelletto of Miramare houses the Visitor Centre and the offices of the Direction of the Marine Reserve, which has a function of control and information on the floristic and faunal heritage.

The Greenhouses
The historical building of the Greenhouses is seat of the Tropical Park: a set of natural spaces, deliberately created to give a suitable habitat to the many tropical species of butterflies and birds, most of which are hummingbird.
